We have officially broken ground on The Colorfield – a luxury condominium development offering 10 spacious homes with iconic views of the Texas State Capitol and downtown Austin. To carry out our mission of building Austin’s future by upholding its legacy, we took inspiration from the HOPE Outdoor Gallery, who previously utilized the site for art installations, and incorporated its spirit into the design of The Colorfield.
Designed by Austin-based Alterstudio Architecture together with Cumby Development, all units feature high-end contemporary finishes with floor-to-ceiling windows in the living and dining areas. Community amenities include a private entrance with concierge service, as well as a rooftop pool and entertaining area featuring private cabanas and intimate rooftop fire-pit seating. The floorplans range from 3,200- 5,058 sf and are priced starting at $3.6 million.
We purchased the 1.2-acre property back in 2019 and before even putting the land under contract, we discussed the future of the site with the surrounding neighborhood and HOPE representatives- taking their input into great account. We worked with Old West Austin Neighborhood Association for more than a year as we designed the project to address traffic concerns and create larger, family-friendly homes in hopes of encouraging more families to move into the neighborhood. The building was also designed to preserve the views of the historic “castle” and Capitol views.

To respect HOPE’s achievements and memorialize what the art park meant to the community, we have been working together with HOPE in partnership to relocate key elements from the original art park to their new location; set to reopen later this year as a vastly expanded open-air community art park, events center and technology gallery on a 17-acre site, a little north of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport just off Dalton Ln. We are also working with a select group of artists that gained their notoriety at the art park to create a mural wall that will be located at the front of The Colorfield building for all to see.
